Abstract
The article focuses on the response of France to the murders inflicted by the extremist group Islamic State in Paris on November 13, 2015. Topics discussed include an overview of the terrorist attack, debate on the issue between freedom and security, demands for new encryption limits, diplomatic measure to Syria, and the invocation of European Union's mutual-assistance defence clause.
