Abstract
The article presents a study that aims to analyze the effects of cyclone-anticyclone asymmetry in the atmosphere of the extratropical latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere in different seasons depending on the size of the atmospheric vortices. Topics include interannual variations in the ratio of frequency of cyclones and anticyclones; relations for the cyclonic & anticyclonic activities in the troposphere of extratopical latitudes; & number of cyclones with lifetime exceeding one day.
