Abstract
The article presents several stories of journalists that won the Pulitzer prizes for exposing abuses of power. Topics mentioned include the story by journalist Don R. Mellett about the prisoner abuse, corruption, and the murder of alleged criminals in 1927, the report by Paul Y. Anderson, a journalist for the "St. Louis Post-Dispatch" newspaper, about the corruption in awarding access to oil reserves, and the report on the association between labor unions and organized crime.
