Abstract
The article focuses on the need for consumers to have control over their personal data in digital markets and proposes making consumers active economic participants by giving them control over their data. Topics include the problems with current data governance, the concept of personal data and its authentication, and the proposal to establish data commons and a representative/agent role to support consumers in data governance.
