Abstract
This study employed the Critical Incident Technique, grounded in the narrative paradigm, to examine the types of communication that exist in online support group message boards for parents of children with disabilities. The coding process yielded 337 positive and 127 negative critical incidents. The categories of 1) informational support and 2) dysfunctional responses to negative parent/familial venting of emotions and intense feelings emerged as key in post-hoc analyses. ..PAT.-Unpublished Manuscript [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
