Abstract
An interview with Catholic priest Wolfgang Sauer, the director of the Institut zur Förderung publizistischen Nachwuchses (Institute for the Advancement of Young Journalists, ifp), a journalism school operated by the Catholic Church in Munich, Germany, is presented. Topics of discussion include Catholic mass media in Germany, the education of religious journalists, and the collaboration between religious and secular leaders in the management of the institute.
