Abstract
The article details the process of printing newspapers using hot metal printing with the Linotype machine in the 1970s. It touches upon the working relations between editors and printers, citing examples of former editor of “The Sunday Times," Denis Hamilton and Fleet Street, London printer, George Darker. A gist is also given about the stoppages faced by newspapers like “The Times" due to labor unions in the printing industry and the shift to new printing technologies by newspapers.
