Abstract
The article offers a perspective on the significance of transforming systems mistrust and poor communication to improving behavioral health care uptake among youth on probation. It outlines batters to behavioral health care including youth/family, agency staff and cross-system movement. Recommendations to improve trust and communication include training of support agency staff in structural competency, trauma-informed care, and developing shared language and goals to facilitate collaboration.
