Abstract
The article recommends screening for social determinants of health (SDOH), or the conditions in environments that affect a range of health, functioning and quality of life outcomes and risks, to help in the speech-language treatment of children. It highlights the population health initiatives launched by the Nationwide Children's Hospital to address inequities in health. It suggests strategies to tackle SDOH barriers and techniques that speech-language pathologists can use to measure SDOH.
