Abstract
The authors consider the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet field equations in $D=5$ dimensions with a cosmological constant coupled to a phenomenological energy-momentum tensor of the Hoffmann-Infeld or Born-Infeld type. They obtain static spherical black hole solutions with 4 or 5 parameters and examine some particular cases. They further examine the Hawking temperature as a function of the black hole horizon, from which they draw conclusions about the rate of evaporation of the hole.
