Abstract
The article discusses the use of metaphor in outdoor adventure education. According to the author, the use of metaphors in outdoor education is located within a much greater corpus of writing in the field of linguistics. It notes that Knowles and Moon defines metaphors as instances of nonliteral language that involve some kind of comparison or identification.
