Abstract
The article discusses on the use of specially trained volunteers to help teachers meet the needs of emotionally disturbed children at Bellefaire in Cleveland, Ohio. Bellefaire is a residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed boys and girls. Most of their students suffer from character disorder. Volunteers were hired to individualize the teaching for these especially difficult students. They were assigned to work with the same child on every service date and utilized in accordance with their personality and skills .
