Abstract
The article discusses the role played by minority serving institutions (MSI) in developing the future engineering workforce in the U.S. Topics covered include data from the U.S. Census which projected that the U.S. will be majority persons of color by 2044, and a 2020 report from the Government Accountability Office which concluded that the current composition of the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) workforce does not reflect this racial diversity.
