Abstract
The study intended to explore the role of character-building societies (CBS) in the awareness of ethical and moral values of students in public schools of tehsil Sargodha. The population of the study was both male and female students of elementary public schools in Sargodha city. Twenty elementary schools including ten males and ten females were visited, where character-building societies were functional in only 10 schools including five female and five were male elementary schools. Two students from each of school were selected randomly. Semi-structured interview for students were used. Thematic analysis was applied to analyze the data. The finding of the study is that CBS works effectively and runs awareness campaigns. CBS is effective for inculcating positive attitudes in the students. It was recommended that a training workshop for CBS members may be arranged by the head teachers to improve their skills. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
