Abstract
A review of five future-oriented professional resources relating to literacy studies is presented. Code-Switching Lessons: Grammar Strategies for Linguistically Diverse Students, by Rebecca Wheeler and Rachel Swords, offers strategies to strengthen language awareness in classrooms through code switching and contrastive analysis. Critical Multicultural Analysis of Children’s Literature: Mirrors, Windows, and Doors by Maria Jośe Botelho and Masha Kabakow Rudman, proposes critical multicultural analysis of children’s literature as a vehicle for social justice education. Critical Multiculturalism: Theory and Praxis by Stephen May and Christine E. Sleeter, questions liberal multicultural education and offers more robust humanizing alternatives to this tradition. Copyright Clarity: How Fair Use Supports Digital Learning by Renee Hobbs, assures that copying digital media does not always amount to stealing. The Future of Literacy Studies edited by Mike Baynham and Mastin Prinsloo invites a new generation of scholars to share their visions for the future of literacy studies.
