Abstract
The article explores the intersection of critical affective literacies, empathy, and connection in teaching young adult literature to youth in recovery from addictions. Topics include the theoretical framework of Critical Affective Literacies, methods used in data gathering and analysis, and the selection of texts centered around addiction experiences for the youth in recovery.
