Abstract
The relevant literature on educational reform and teacher education indicates an evident pattern of dissatisfaction with current reform efforts. The literature has a common theme of dissatisfaction and suggesting new solutions, but treats the theme of assessing blame differently. The hopeful difference apparent among many current reports and many earlier reports of reform effort is a definite trend away from assigning blame for the cited failures, together with a call for a coming together of all major stakeholders in order to achieve the task of reform. Reflecting on current reform literature, the writers point out that teacher education programs have experienced more than a little reform themselves and that perhaps teacher educators are not doing so badly after all.
