Abstract
The purpose of this study was to verify the connection between the effective school criteria and school grades in Florida that are used to indicate a school's effectiveness. Two overarching constructs of school culture and the interdependency of systems thinking that contribute to school effectiveness and increased student achievement were identified and measured through a quantitative correlational data analysis. The findings indicate a strong correlation between the effective school criteria and school grades, and between the presence of the effective school criteria and the organizational structures. Implications for educators on all levels to pursue a familiarity with the effective school criteria in an effort to improve student achievement research are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
