Abstract
The article discusses literature that emphasize how important and unique singing is in human society evolution, taken from evolutionary theories, brain studies, and music therapy. Topics discussed include singing as a social activity, citing the concept of singing as expression of emotions and events in the moment by evolutionary musicologist Joseph Jordania and the late naturalist and geologist Charles Darwin, singing as a means to communicate, and effect of singing on the human brain.
