Abstract
Explores a view of both art and therapeutic emotion as primary acts of mind, or lived experiences. Argues that processes of artistic gesture or emotional enactment construct symbols from personal and interpersonal contexts and that an understanding of these processes as experienced and enacted calls for a narrative rather than a paradigmatic approach.
