Abstract
Summarises the Irish Labour Court decision in Health Service Executive (HSE) v A Worker, a successful appeal of an adjudication officer's recommendation which supported a claim by a community registered general nurse for a caseload allowance that had been introduced in response to a shortage of public health nurses in 2001, after finding that the allowance applicable in the context of a vacancy did not arise in this case, and that concession of the claim would have had major cost consequences.
