Abstract
Considers the main issues that may influence the value of share-based payments in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard (FRS) 20, focusing on vesting conditions, equity settled options, the issuing of new shares and modifications. Explains the basic characteristics of options, including the different types of share-based payment identified by FRS 20, the inputs required by option valuation models and the methodology used to calculate the value of an option. Summarises the factual options used and identifies the three main option pricing models used to value options.
