Abstract
Examines the assistance offered to armed forces veterans at HMP Grendon, a category B therapeutic community prison, and the adjacent open prison, HMP Springhill. Discusses the adjustment problems ex-service personnel can experience both in civilian life and in prison. Presents veterans' personal accounts of their routes to criminality and their experiences at HMP Grendon.
