Comments on proposed legislation to reform the Dutch cookies law, published by the Minister of Economic Affairs on May 20, 2013. Highlights the provision to introduce a lighter regime for cookies used to measures a website's quality and effectiveness, such as analytic cookies, and notes guidance on user consent for the placement of cookies. Discusses the next steps for the proposed legislation.
