Abstract
Reports on a conference aimed at magistrates in East Sussex entitled "Out of the Shadows: Surviving Stalking" at which women affected by stalking gave their testimonies. Defines stalking, and examines types of stalking patterns. Calls for police officers to be trained to understand such behavioural patterns, and asks what can be done by magistrates to help protect victims.
