Abstract
Considers how the educational exceptions to the copyright law of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) might be developed with the aim of fostering economic and social development. Reviews the research literature on the relationship between intellectual property and development. Assesses whether the existing UAE educational exceptions are adequate for the digital age. Suggests some specific reforms.
