Abstract
Examines potential financial crime risks arising in connection with financial technology (FinTech), in particular relating to the emergence of new, start-up financial services firms. Reviews recent technological developments enabling the rapid growth in FinTech products and services. Discusses the findings of two recent Europol studies and a FinTech Financial Crime Exchange report on financial crime risks presented by FinTech.
