Abstract
Examines the UK's aviation policy following the Department of Transport's March 2011 publication "Developing a Sustainable Framework for UK Aviation: Scoping Document". Reviews the main elements of the document and key features of the airports inquiry ruling concerning additional flights at Farnborough, including the policy significance of its approach to climate change, noise impacts and the 2003 White Paper "The Future of Air Transport". Reflects on the 2011 document "Government Response to the Committee on Climate Change Report on Reducing CO2 Emissions from UK Aviation to 2050".
