Abstract
An analysis is presented for the behavior of the pneumatic probe. The analysis provides approximate functional descriptions of the pressure response and exit gas velocity changes resulting from a step change in probe conditions. It is shown that the bounds on the errors of the approximate solutions are small. The prediction of the analysis is compared with experiment and found to be satisfactory.
