Abstract
High energy interactions involving hard processes with small cross section from nucleon targets are generally interpreted in terms of the quark-parton model. The hard process cross section is modified if the target nucleon is embedded in a nucleus. When an attempt is made to interpret both published and new, unpublished data in terms of a model describing partons traversing nuclear matter to and/or from a hard interaction, inconsistencies in the picture arise.
