Abstract
The VARI-1D code calculates estimates of changes in reactivity worths, keff, reaction rates, power fractions, prompt-neutron generation time, delayed neutron effectiveness, and flux integral ratios due to changes in nuclear data or composition by use of a variational formalism. The code is applicable to a wide range of reactor or critical experiment design problems and sensitivity studies.IBM360,370/195; FORTRAN IV is used except for subroutine SQUEZE which is in Assembly language.; OS/360,370; A typical execution requires about 450K bytes. One peripheral I/O device is required for a cross section input file..
