Abstract
This article discusses a proposal whereby Yosemite National Park's, Hetch Hetchy Valley would be restored. Hetch Hetchy was lost, presumably forever, in 1913, when Congress authorized the construction of O'Shaughnessey Dam to provide water and electrical power to San Francisco. The plan would involve demolishing O'Shaughnessey Dam, locating alternative sources of water for San Francisco, and possibly compensating the city for lost revenues from the sale of electric power.
