Abstract
The deuterium solvent effect on the xanthene dyes in H/sub 3/BO/sub 3/ and D/sub 3/HO/sub 3/ glasses was studied. An increase in both the triplet decay time and the ratio of phosphorescence-to-fluorescence yield was observed due to deuteration. The results are explained on the basis of the nature of the vibrational modes of the solvent molecule. (auth)
