Abstract
The progressive electromagnetic field in the interior of a long, cylindrical, circular channel, traversed by a conducting (electrical) isotropic and homogeneous fluid, with constant velocity in the whole cross section of the channel. The primary is a current sheet which varies sinusoidally with time along the channel. The mean axial and radial forces, the average pewer lost by the Joule effect, and the theoretical efficiency of the transformation of the field energy into mechanical energy are calculated. Hydraulic losses are not considered. (tr-auth)
