Abstract
The following are studied/discussed: high-temperature oxide melt calorimetry using molten 2PbO{center_dot}B{sub 2}O{sub 3}; final state of H{sub 2}O and CO{sub 2} on dissolution of crystalline volatile-bearing phase; enthalpy of interaction of water with lead borate; thermochemistry of amphiboles, micas, zeolites, and carbonates in the (Mg,Fe,Ca)CO{sub 3} system; radiation damage in minerals (zircons); and crystalline silicas.
