Abstract
From international conference on ion beam surface layer analysis; Yorktown Heights, NY (18 Jun 1973). A table was prepared to facilitate the measurements for thin films using nuclear backscattering. The table shows, for a given number of incoming /sup 4/He projectiles, how many will be scattered into a given solid angle from a given thin film. Specifically, for 1 mu C of /sup 4/He projectiles incident at some energy E/sub o/ = (1000 keV) onto a uniform thin film of 10/sup 16/ at om/cm/sup 2/, the calculation shows how many will backscatter (90 to 170 deg ) onto a solid angle of 1 msterad.
