Abstract
Palladium, in the presence of U, was quantitatively extracted in the forra of the naphthalate complex with toluene in a pH range of 1.0 to 2.0. The excess reagent was also extracted. No U precipitation occurred. EDTA was used to buffer the solution as well as to mask interfering elements. The excess 2- nitroso-I-naphthol was scrubbed from the toluene phase with dilute NaOH.
