Abstract
In order to test the reliability of the versatile applicable cell method, the extreme problem of the calculation of the reactivity of three strongly absorbing control rods in a pressurized water reactor is treated with the help of various appoximations based on the cell method, and the results are compared with the exact results obtained by the Avery method.
