Abstract
The lack of a national energy policy is discussed. Congress has debated natural gas policy, synthetic fuels policy, energy conservation, and the breeder reactor, but a rational energy policy has not been formulated. Senator Gravel feels that some progress is being made. The questionable commitment to the breeder reactor, continued reliance on fossil fuels, the role of solar energy, the importance of the utilization of hydropower, and the needed redirection toward conservation are discussed.
