Abstract
ABS>A sheathed, finned reactor fuel element is designed with external and internal bracing means of low neutron absorbing material having high creep resistance to resist bowing of the fuel element. The external bracing means comprise longitudinal fins held in contact with the sheath, and the internal bracing means comprise a rod filling the center of the hollow fuel member. The fins may be made from carbon and the rod from sintered alumina. (D.L.C.)
