Abstract
A further investigation was made of the parameters which govern the growth of mossy and crystalline dendrites. It was found that the transition from one type of growth to the other occurred at a critical current density corresponding to the onset of diffusion control. Under ambient conditions this current density was 20 +- 2 mA/cm/sup 2/. This finding was further confirmed by an analysis of the temperature dependence of the growth process. The effect of temperature on the adherency of the deposit was also examined.
