Abstract
An improved Solar Electric Generating System (SEGS) plant simulation was developed to improve performance modeling at the five 30-MW SEGS plants located at Kramer Junction, California. The purpose of this paper is to describe in detail the original modeling techniques, which involves a three step process, and then describe how these were combined into a single program. The programming methodology and program operation of the new KJC Model will be described and many of its features will be highlighted. In addition, a comparison between actual plant output, the previous modeling process and the new KJC Plant Performance Model will be presented.
