Abstract
The decay of Se/sup 81m/ obtained from Br(n,p) reactions, was studied. The scintillation spectrum had an intense peak at 101 plus or minus 3 kev, which was caused bv the isometric transition. A much weaker peak was detected at 285 plus or minus 9 kev. Indications were obtained of the presence on other still weaker gamma rays. The relative intensities of the 101 and 285 kev lines are of the order of 100 and 15; 5. The gamma and beta radiation decay with a period of 61 plus or minus 2 min. The possible levels of Br/sup 81/ to which the Se/sup 81m/ decays are discussed. (J.S.R.)
