Abstract
The article describes setting up a Team Training Day in a paediatrics department in 2008. The themes for the day was "Admitting a critically ill child and his or her family", and that communication and collaboration are pivotal. The Team Training Day was developed by a multidisciplinary workgroup for the department personnel and was carried out as a full training day. More than two years after the first Team Training Day, it remains a highly prioritized, regular monthly agenda item. An assessment of the activity shows that the staff feels professionally and personally better equipped than before when admitting acute and critically ill children and also, the job satisfaction at the department has increased.
