Abstract
In 2006 an outbreak of tomato yellow leaf curl disease occurred in tomato crops on Rhodes Island, Greece. Diseased plants were found to be infested with the B biotype of theBemisia tabaci (Gennadius) complex and greenhouse and open-field-grown tomato crops were infected withTomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) introduced from the Middle East. This is the first report of TYLCV and the B biotype ofB. tabaci on Rhodes Island in Greece.
