Abstract
The continuous innovation of film technology has provided increasing methods and possibilities for realizing the aesthetic senses of film scenes. This research takes Ang Lee’s works as the research and analysis objects and implements case studies on films such as Hulk, shot by computer-generated imagery(CGI)in 2003, Life of Pi, made by 3D and computer graphics(CG) in 2012, as well as Billy Lynn"s Long Halftime Walk, in 2016, and Gemini Man, in 2019, both produced by 3D and 120 frames of immersive digital technology with 4K resolution. It aims to analyze the aesthetic effects and characteristics of his films made after his exploration of making special effects films through technology. Taking Lee"s films as the objects and the development of cinema as the perspective, this research analyzes the practical application of innovation in special effects technology and realization of media aesthetics and discusses the influences and effects on aesthetic experience.
