Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop an online courseware for learning overseas traveling etiquette. This study introduces a situated learning theory whose purpose is to improve the problem solving ability of students in real-life situations, and develops a courseware for individualized education which takes individual differences into account. To actualize situated learning, the learning content has been designed using situational simulations and procedural simulations. In addition, effective teaching and learning strategies have been applied to the courseware. The developed courseware was evaluated by students majoring in Computer Education. The courseware has educational values and received the highest evaluation for learning through the presentation of example situations and practice. This courseware can realize self-directed learning through interactions which are characteristic of computers. Through virtual exercises, it can cultivate both cognitive and procedural knowledge appropriate to the practice of proper etiquette for overseas trips.
