Abstract
A backlight assembly including a lamp having a lamp tube and first and second conductive members, a container body exposing the lamp tube while covering the first and second conductive members, a power-supplying means receiving the first and second conductive members and providing them with power, and a light uniformity improving means. A liquid crystal display panel assembly is coupled to the backlight assembly so as to display a picture by controlling a transmittance of the light passing through the light uniformity improving means.
