L’étude d’un lot de céramiques et d’amphores trouvé dans le comblement d’un fossé bordier d’une voie traversant le complexe de Saint-Bézard à Aspiran (moyenne vallée de l’Hérault) permet de caractériser d’un point de vue matériel les premières décennies d’occupation du site. La description des mobiliers céramiques précise l’origine des courants commerciaux qui approvisionnaient la Narbonnaise centrale dans le premier quart du Ier s. ap. J. -C. Si les importations méditerranéennes, en particulier italiennes, sont bien représentées, on observe aussi la présence de productions du sud du Massif Central (secteur de Millau). L’importance numérique de la vaisselle de table par rapport à la vaisselle culinaire constitue l’originalité de cet ensemble et invite à s’interroger sur l’identité des occupants du site mais aussi sur les conditions particulières du rejet de ces mobiliers dans un fossé.
The study of a lot of ceramic and amphorae found in the filling of a ditch bordier of a way crossing the complex of Saint-Bézard, in Aspiran (middle valley of the Hérault) allows to characterize from a material point of view the first decades of occupation of the site. The description of the ceramic furnitures specifies the origin of the commercial currents which supplied central Narbonnaise in the first quarter of Ist c. AD. If the Mediterranean, in particular Italian imports, are well represented, we also observe the presence of productions of the South of Massif Central (sector of Millau). The numerical importance of the table dishes as compared to the culinary dishes constitutes the originality of this group and invites to interrogate oneself about the identity of occupants of the site, but also on the particular conditions of the rejection of these furnitures in a ditch.
