The present invention relates to a recording medium conveying apparatus for conveying a recording medium from one position to another position, comprising a rotary body pair capable of holdin, the recording medium, driving means for rotatively driving the rotary body pair and moving means for moving the rotary body pair. The rotary body move to a first position for feeding the recording medium from a first route to a second route and to a second position other than the above.
